Saturday, July 17th we drove up to Kansas City to meet our former nanny there. She was visiting her cousin in St. Louis and they drove over so we could see each other and they could explore Kansas City. We first stopped at Penguin Park to meet up with Emily. Emily LOVES penguins so this was a natural first stop :-)
It was so HOT!
Waiting for Emily. Timing worked out because the kids played for a while and by the time Emily got there we were ready to leave, lol. We had put off lunch too so we were getting HUNGRY!
YAH! Emily arrived, soooo good to see her! Really made us all feel homesick for Minnesota.
We went to Minksky's in the City Market for lunch. I HAD to try this beer because of it's name... yeah it was about as good as you'd think (not good) - lol gluten free beer.
After a late lunch we went to check into our AirBnB while Emily and her cousin went to check into their hotel. We were staying near the power and light district, well really just across the highway from the City Market.
We had a two bedroom condo, two queen beds and a blow up. The girls took the other room and Isaac and Thomas slept in the living room on the blow up mattress. It was a nice, new condo.
With awesome amenities in the basement! They had a rock climbing wall, basketball court, volleyball and pickle ball. An area with a soccer field, fuse ball and a video game system. And their GYM! Holy cow I wish I could workout there everyday (I have pictures of that on day 2)
Got our playing out and decided to meet back up with Emily at Crown Center. There was a free little sea life exhibit.
SnowCones!
Had to get a photo here since 4 years ago we had one of the older three in the same spot. I'll add it below.
The Sea Life Exhibit was just a little room to explore with some artwork and puzzles. Kids enjoyed it.
Then we went for a little walk trying to figure out what to do. We had eaten lunch later so we weren't terribly hungry. Decided to part from Emily (they went to some brewery's) We picked up some groceries and ate dinner in and called it a night.
