Mom's Visit

My Mom came to visit mid-June. It was nice to have her after a delayed planned trip in March.

Trip to Barnes & Nobel to get the girls birthday treats

Grandma got them crowns at the dollar store so they played dress up when we got home.

Thanks to grandma being here Kyle and I got ANOTHER date night! We went early to check out the new hip restaurant The Belmont just down the road from where we live. Had to since it's the name of our street, haha. The drinks were great, food eh okay. Def a place to go for happy hour then maybe leave to grab dinner somewhere else.

Saturday Isaac had his first flag football practice. So while Kyle and Isaac went there, Grandma, me, and the other three went to check out the Botanica. Mom bought us a season pass and we've already been back twice since this visit.

Masks required inside.

Lots of sculptures everywhere and a butterfly house.

There was a fun wooded area with a story book posted along the path and fairy gardens all hidden throughout the woods.

The children's garden was CLOSED, so sad. But we were able to check it out a couple weeks later after it opened July 1st.

They were able to ride the carousel. Thomas was afraid.

We got to see the train in action:

We finished up in the Chinese Garden

We met the guys at Prost for lunch. It's a German restaurant right down the road from us.

Thomas enjoying some orange soda, a real treat!

Sunday was Father's Day. We drove about 45 minutes south to a place called Bartlett Arboretum

It was a nice little oasis that felt like you were not in the middle of Kansas.

The kids enjoyed running around their little Tiny Town.
