These were at Cedar Lake, ironically enough before we even put an offer in on our current house.
Then August 10th I had a good friend over with her two little ones and we took a walk to the beach and had a wonderful picnic. It was such an awesome more, I am so thankful we did this. Before we moved I envisioned walks to the beach everyday, okay maybe not everyday but more often than they had happened. The first month after moving in was taking over by unpacking and getting acquainted with the house, the weather was also wonky and didn't allow for long stretches of being outside. Wish we would have made it to the beach more than we did, but lucky have this day to be thankful for. We did have an early day I think the week before this that we had some other friends over on a Sunday morning and made it to the beach for some swim time.

Then the last weekend of August was our annual lake day with some friends from Newly Marrieds. We aren't newly married anymore, but we still call ourselves that :-P
The tire swing was a HUGE hit as usual. We learned that our friends dad (the owner of the house) was wanting to take it down when they first moved in. Everyone is glad they didn't because the kids absolutely love it. It's a rare moment for that thing to be vacant.
Each kid even attempted the slide. I think Mary went down a few times.
Then we went for a boat ride.

It was the perfect day. It was rainy that morning before everyone arrived but the sun came out and gave us some summer to enjoy. Always a highlight of our summer.
