Minnesota NoIce

I decided this needed its own post. I tried to document a lot around town the end of January into February all the anti-ice happenings. This sculpture was made in our neighborhood after the artist was disqualified from having another sculpture in the festival competition.

So many protesters around the cities, encouraging to see. This guy was there pretty much EVERYDAY on our drive home from school. Prob everyday for at least 3-4 weeks.

They added onto the snow sculpture since I first took a photo. And the names had melted a bit.

The annual luminary on our lake was February 7th. Someone had sculpted a beautiful portrait of Renee and Alex into ice. Someone was coming back every night for the next week and lighting many of the luminaries again. Mary and I walked over there mid-week to get a closer look.

Some poems posted around the ice.

Our city was greatly impacted and we're proud of the stance we took to stop the violence and illegal actions to our American Citizen neighbors.
