Mexico Moto Trip Day 3 {Ensenada}

We made it back to the coast on Thursday January 22nd. We stopped just north of Ensendad to take in the views. We were able to snap photos and listen to the water on the rocks for about 8 minutes before someone came over saying we're welcome to park there if we pay.

Hopped back on and followed Josh into town where he took us to this little place he'd been before for fish tacos. The best in the world! Had to drive around a bit to find some parking, but squeezed into a spot and walked down the block. This place was THE true definition of 'hidden gem'. As you can somewhat see from the photos, you can't see it from the road, you turn into an area that just looks like houses and garages and there it is!

Tacos Marco Antonio

We each had 3-4 tacos, soo good. I liked the Ramses Especial. Rang in at $55 pesos, that's about $3 USD

Belly's full, time to explore Ensenada. Rode over to the pier/marina area and found another spot to park the bikes. Walked through a fish market.

Then out to the marina area where there was a statue.

Over to where the huge monumental Mexica flag usually is, but it wasn't flying that day. There was the Ensenada sign and water fountains with music.

Walked inland across the main road to check out some shops and an area that looked fun from the satellite view.

Back to our bikes and on the road, stopping for gas on the north side of town.

Next stop was a look out point called El Mirador.

That was all the driving for the day. We made it to our hotel on the coast, check in and explored the beach. It was chilly so no wading in the ocean. I was wearing two layers of pants and 2 shirts plus my jacket.

The hotel was between La Mision and Rosarito in a really small town called Alisitos. The staff was incredible kind. The forecast was calling for rain that evening; we'd lucked out and had dry weather the whole time, not the warmest but we could deal with that, thankful we didn't have to ride in rain. Anywho the staff at the hotel offered up their nearby personal garage space to park our bikes for the evening.

These signs were in the hotel restaurant. Cool to see a map of the area we were just in the night before.

View room before we opened the shades to the balcony.

Castillo del diablo (castle of the devil) We didn't go around and see the front side but if you look it up on google maps you can see all the crazy gargoyles and statues. This was the beach side view:

Dinner at the restaurant was meh... not the best we've had.

We did see our mom's doppelgänger!
When the kids saw this photo they even said "Was grandma Judy there?" lol.

The map from today's riding:

The next morning we listened to the ocean waiting for the restaurant to open so we could have some coffee. Too bad we didn't have a coffee maker in our room again.

Searching for that drink Josh was looking for we walked into the tiny town. And by town I mean it consisted of just an Oxxo (their convenient store)

I need a little something in my tummy before we hit the road so I ordered a simple breakfast before hitting the road. More ocean views.

Back on the road with one stop before our next destination, quick view of the large Jesus.

Next stop Rosarito
