Houston Trip {President's Day Weekend Feb 14-18}

The way the kids' schedule was they were all out of school on Monday for President's Day. The girls had Friday off and the boys had Tuesday off so we decided each would just miss a day. However while we were gone Tuesday school was cancelled for the girls due to the extreme cold. So it was a great weekend to be out of Minnesota.

We had an AirBnB a few miles from our friends' house that we were visiting. We stopped for some food on the way there. These are the same friends that came to visit us in Kansas the summer of 2021

Lots of friend visiting. Saturday we watched their girl's soccer game then went to a trampoline park.

Sunday we hit the natural science museum in downtown Houston with a butterfly garden

These were so cool, made of rock or stone

Most our time was visiting with them at their home. They had two guinie pigs that Isaac loved :-P Isaac was hogging one at all times, lol. They have two girls that played really well with our two girls.

Monday our friends had to go back to school, we drove to south Houston to the NASA museum.

We watched a movie made and narrated by Tom Hanks

It was really good and really helped explain a lot. Our minds got in the right place and we could enjoy the rest of the museum better after watching the movie.

Then we listened to a talk about the upcoming work to get back to the moon. They discovered ice on the South Pole of the moon and if they can investigate more where there is ice there is water and where there is water their is fuel source so they hope to use the moon as a fuel stop to get to MARS!

If you remember when we lived back in Kansas we would go to the Space Museum there called the Cosmosphere. Another post about it.

Tuesday we left, headed to Houston to kill some time before our flight.

It was crazy how Houston was in an extreme cold watch when we left and Minneapolis was as well - both looked very different.
