California Day 6 {August 2nd - departure day}

Sunday morning we woke up, packed up and headed out fairly early. We had to drive back to LA for our flight at LAX. It could take us anywhere from 2-3 hours but there ended up being NO traffic so we made it in two.

Solar is my brother's wild cat that roams the ranch. She (or he) likes to hide under the solar panels all day so Mary named it 'Solar'. We were surprised to see solar peeking in our window wishing us goodbye.

Another fogging morning, it was crazy driving out, when we went that way before the mountain we were in the fog, then went up out of it above the clouds then back down into it when we got to Santa Barbara.

Spotted a hot air balloon as we were saying goodbye.

Our map said it'd only take 2 hours so we did a drive around loop in their 'hood on a look for the cows. Of course there they were up in a field right across from Josh's but in the opposite direction we drove.

Back to the coast

And fog.

Stopped for a rest break and thought this little barn playground was suiting for our trip.

Made it to the airport with plenty of time, returned the rental van, found some food.

Airplane pictures are never as good as the live view, but I still continue to take photos, lol.

Going over Lake Minnetonka, that was pretty cool to point out familiar areas.

Next ones are Cargill's offices and Edina (you can see the golf course and the water tower is the campus the kids go to school)

Kids are old enough to be helpful at the airport, retrieving our bags.

Reunited with Oakley from the boarding house and stopped for lunch at Pizza Luce.
