We took an impromptu trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin and Door County for the long weekend.
Stop for lunch in Wausau for Thai. We found this place a couple years ago when we were driving through to the U.P.
Green Bay was pretty blah... we were at a hotel pretty close to Lambeau Field. Kids got to swim.
Then we went to check out an area called Title Town for dinner.
Sunday we took a drive up into Door County, which is a peninsula that sticks out into Lake Michigan. It was pretty chilly weather wise.
Our first stop was Jacksonport. Our goal was really just to see some beautiful water of Lake Michigan... but I think the bluer water is over on the east side of the lake (in Michigan)
Next stop was Bailey's Harbor - I think this is where we had lunch.
We then stumbled upon this fun little island called Cana Island Lighthouse. You couldn't drive to the island, instead had to walk or take a fun tractor ride. We walked out to the island.
We walked along the shoreline over to the light house.
Then we took the tractor ride back, they let dogs on.
The driver is a volunteer, he took us 'off roading' to get a photo op to make it look like you have to go through water to get to the island. But as you can see in the photo above there is a clear path on land.
food truck at a gas station on our drive back to Green Bay. had to get some cheese curds.
When we got back to Green Bay we put Oakley up at the hotel and went to a mini-golf place we had spotted the evening before.
Then back to the hotel for some pool time. More pool time the next morning before we left.
Oakley enjoyed a pup cup as we left town to head back home.
